Didn’t you do well. Of course the mention of the Beautiful South was a reference to the musical group who had a single called ‘Rotterdam’.

So that was Destination 1. You will have got Destination 2 from the pottery, I’m sure. It was the smaller city of Delft. I thoroughly recommend it for a true Dutch experience.
We have made a final decision about our final destination. It’s the only firm decision we have made for the journey. We will, of course, keep that information between Jan and myself. One other snippet I can tell you is that this trip has one whole month duration from today’s date. I’m not sure I can keep up the suspense, nor am I sure you can cope with the nonsense I write for so long either. Good luck.

It is with relief that I can show the photos I took today without fear that they will necessarily give away the location unless you have personally been yourself. So here goes




The castle is famous for throwing parties for the rich and famous during September each year. They do anything for a good laugh!


We saw a bed slept in by Gregory Peck. Other visitors included the Rothchilds, Maria Callas, Brigitte Bardot French President Pompidou….and Roger Moore. Apparently Roger Moore forgot to pack his socks….he raised an eyebrow when he realised, he was, merely, ‘shaken but not stirred’!
I thought I needed to toughen up the clues today. It must have been easy yesterday.
