Saeby to Nykobing Sjaellborg – 45 miles.
To tell you the truth the house I stayed in last night was a bit creepy. Such a big house and it was a bit odd. The bed was so lumpy that even a Princess couldn’t detect a bag of frozen Birds Eye peas under the mattress!
I got up to an improvised breakfast this morning from my own supplies. I won’t tell you what it involved….it might put you off your breakfast!
However, today has been a lovely day. As Goldilocks would say it was “not too hot but not too cold, it was just right”.

I knew that today was going to be a slow day….and all the better for it. I wasn’t trying to get anywhere fast, I was passing nowhere of any size, just rolling farmland, lakes and sea. Also it was a Monday! Nothing seemed to be open as I passed. I have had this problem before so I didn’t expect much.
I didn’t care. I rode a little easier and enjoyed the slower pace.
After all I am constantly being mistaken for Jonas Vingegaard! For those who don’t know, he’s probably the second best cyclist in the world…and he happens to be Danish.

I enjoyed watching the birds on the water but….

The slot was on an island surrounded by Coots and ‘Ruddy’ ducks. Thankfully the English Widgeon wasn’t on display!

My accommodation is on the Main Street and is the closest thing I’ve found to an English Pub. They have a ‘vinyl room’ for that old concept of ‘spinning discs’. They were actually playing a Spotify playlist. I am being transported back a few years….chirpy chirpy cheep cheep’ is currently playing!
My room is fine and I get a proper breakfast in the morning.
I just need to keep the pace slow for the rest of the evening and I can pick up the pace again tomorrow. I have another ferry and some grand designs for the day!
