Are you sitting comfortably? Then I’ll begin.
There once was an old silly man who lived in deepest Rutland. He had a dream that one day he would be sprinkled with fairy dust and kissed by a beautiful princess. His pumpkin would be magically transformed to a touring bike and off he would travel to magical lands unknown…! That’s not bad for starters.
That’s as far as I have got with the story.
My pumpkin on this occasion will be my Ribble Titanium gravel bike which is set up for touring.
I considered an older bike….but decided against it.
I managed to pack my bags in just over an hour yesterday. I have splashed out on a pair of new socks….exciting eh! Not just any socks …
The socks are from a company that donate to a Multiple Sclerosis charity. There are some great designs. If you are interested you can find them at https://monkeysox.org/
They are so good I don’t think I will bother with cycling shoes just so I can show them off.
My other preparations do stretch to a new innovation to my blogs, so here goes with my new ‘video with music’ career.
Setting off today. The ferry goes from Harwich tonight. I hope to be dropped off near Colchester so I can ride onward to Harwich. I’m very excited to set off on a 4 week adventure.
