We had a substantial breakfast and got on our bikes to do one more tour of Dordrecht.

The food market was in full swing.

It is a great city with lots of historic buildings. There are lots of smart boats in the harbour. Definitely worth a visit.

Our route into Rotterdam passed….

One of the top Dutch football teams.

We crossed the Erasmus bridge.

Rotterdam was badly bombed in the war. It is therefore a more modern city than elsewhere in Holland.
The Market Hall is my favourite building.
We needed coffee and Apple cake….
….with slagroom! Dutch word for cream.

Next on the agenda was the Cube buildings..

Very strange but groovy!

We moved through the city shopping areas to the museum quarter.

We then braved the bike tunnel under the Rhin.

On the other side we had a great view of SS Rotterdam cruise liner.

Our ride back to the ferry terminal was still about 30km but the wind was kind and the temperature was lovely and warm.

We have now completed our circuit of Holland.

There has been no windmill today!

The windmill of the week competition is…..drum roll….

Peter has won the competition!

We celebrated the end of the tour on the ferry…

Another successful trip. What a fabulous country. It has lots of variety but still retains lots of Dutch style and culture. The people are sooo friendly. We have had a great time.

Well done to Team Vernon!
