The logistical planning paid off as all brothers arrived at the P&O ferry terminal on time. We were in fact a little early.

We had time to visit an iconic pub of Hull, The Minerva, before we sailed. We might as well start as we intend to carry on.

We passed ‘The Deep’ aquarium which appeared very quiet. I saw the adult price of £24 and realised why it was so quiet.
We started our cycling preparations in the pub by drinking the local ‘energy drink’. The pub was pretty busy and we ended up playing musical tables with two couples who had booked for food.
Back to the ferry terminal and we boarded without any delays.
We chucked our bags into the cabin and headed for more energy drinks!
We then went to the self service ‘all you can eat’ restaurant. It was a recipe for disaster for us….we had about seven visits to the buffet. Chinese, fish, Indian, salad, roast meats, cheese with biscuits and finally desserts. The carbs are well loaded for tomorrow’s riding.
We were a little late for the ships quiz so couldn’t defend our champion-ship quiz title. It was probably a good thing because we caught the last rounds and found our knowledge of animated cartoons to be lacking.
Finally we put ourselves through the gruelling punishment of listening to the ships resident band! Not good!
Anyway, all is on schedule for riding tomorrow on Konigsday – The Dutch King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.
