I made a few double references yesterday in the blog. They suggested a repeated word in the name of the village. The village was in fact Tourtour. I know it’s small and maybe not known….but we liked it.

We woke to a lovely sunrise and got back on the wiggly tracks they call autoroutes. The scenery was very pleasant though.

In late morning we parked up at our new camp. We are almost on the Verdon river.

The town seems to be a bit of a tourist attraction.

The chateau on the hill is named the Chateau du Templiers. It isn’t currently open to the public but it still dominates the skyline.

The town is noted for its thermal waters.

We checked the water for free.

We had a slice of pizza and ice cream for lunch. Then enjoyed a walk by the river.

I also had a ride out to Lac d’Esperron for lovely views.

The Dam.
Main view of the lake. Note: the pretty patterns of the clouds!

The main part of the Gorges du Verdon is further upstream but our town has become les bain of my life?

Bye bye September.

On the ball today. The guess is Gréoux Les Bains.

You’re stopping places we’ve never heard of.

The Aire for camping cars looks quite nice too.
