Yes, we crossed into Switzerland. We could t move for watches, cheese, chocolate, yodelling and army knives. I showed the Rhine again and a stein of bier. The location was Stein am Rhein. It is a super pretty town with lots of very authentic buildings and waterside.

The Malaga flavour ice cream was rum and raisin, mainly rum!
Today was gorgeous too for our short Lindy-hop to the east. About 5km from the border with Austria yet still on the shore of the Bodensee.
We cycled into the small town to spend most of the day. Here are a few photos….

I get this town’s name mixed up with a variety of 4 wheeled horse drawn carriage that is often used for royal processions. It has a soft top that can be removed to allow royal waving for the crowds.
Whilst in town I spotted a perfect present for Jan’s upcoming birthday…..

Another amazing discovery today was that plastic bottles can be recycled for money! We were charged an extra fee for our soft drinks….this amount is refunded if we take them to the supermarket foyers. It’s 25 cents per plastic bottle. I had to physically stop Jan from rummaging through the bins. We have two bottles and I am wondering what I am going to use the 50 cents on!
We returned to the van for a Full English breakfast at teatime….does that make sense? It was bacon, egg, German black wurst, mushrooms and kartofflen (German potato salad). Yum yum.
We are staying put again tomorrow but still plan a bike ride to somewhere interesting.
I wonder if I can get those mop shoes from Amazon but don’t tell Jan!
