Well of course we were at Donauschingen yesterday. Donau is the German name for the Danube and it is the city where it all starts.

I felt I needed to show the potato and knife photo in more detail….

It’s such a thing of beauty….dont you think!

Moving on, we did some of our admin today to fill up our diesel, water and importantly our LPG cylinder. It’s always seems to be a challenge to fill up on LPG. The foreign connections are different in different countries and we never get it right first time. As usual we needed the assistance of the filling station attendant (a nice young man who spoke good English). The filling station offered a filler with a German connector and one with a French connector! We weren’t actually doing anything wrong it just needed the attendant to activate the dispenser.

Anyway we are all spick and span now. We merely had to arrive at our popular picture postcard destination. We were pleased to get a place at our targeted aire. We chose it by comparing the market or should I say meerkat?

The town/city has beauty to spare.

It is on a substantial body of water, the German equivalent of our Windermere or should I say ‘Vindermere’.

We wasted no time on getting out on the water to another lovely town and cycled back.

I suggested a different route but it went down like a Led balloon with Jan.

So much so that the Zepplin balloon was constantly flying around all day.

We disembarked at a place named after ‘Fredrick’s place’ and we cycled 20km back to our original destination for a glass of local wein before returning to the van.

We are staying put here for at least one more night. The weather looks good for the next few days and we want to enjoy ourselves rather than move around for the benefit of a few readers who want to guess our location! I’m not such a Dumbo!

By the way, the burg has a Zepplin museum and has a certain consistency.

Not sure that the guesses are going well. This time I’d agree it looks like Windermere. so will have a punt at Titsee? It was a place we fancied going when at Freiburg but the temperatures were a bit cooler up in the mountains.

Oh well, if nobody else is going to bother then I’ll name your destination as Meersburg. I know you’ve both visited Lake Constance before and it does look very inviting. Reminds me a bit of Morecambe but without the litter, graffiti, drug addicts, drunks…

The tide doesn’t go out here! Well guessed. I have been listening to Led Zeppelin volume IV too.
