Thanks for sticking with me for 5 weeks of random travelling. More specifically I should say thank you to Jan for sticking with me for 5 weeks of random travelling!

The Destination clues and guessing seemed to work pretty well I think. Not too serious I hope, although it wasn’t always easy.

We had a great time making up our route daily. Everywhere we went had something special to remember….and that’s what my blogging is really about….being able to look back in the future and remember what we have done.

Let’s do a speedy recap.

Holland.

Rotterdam, a great mix of modern and traditional.
Delph a great visit for a ‘tattoo’.
De Haar was a pleasant surprise and now I know where Roger Moore forgot his socks!
Maastricht market was a place of EU history.

Germany.

Speyer is a wonderful town on the Rhine. We managed to arrive on the day of a festival. We needed a bier to settle in.
Picturesque Tübingen in the Black Forest to see Matthew, Anne and family.
Konstanz harbour.
Lindau on the Bodensee.
We had a little bike ride into Switzerland at Stein Am Rhine.
We were enjoying fantastic weather at Lindau and Meersburg as well.

Austria.

Revisit to Bregenz.

Liechtenstein.

Great way of ticking off a European country. We had a good cycle on the Upper Rhine.

Italy.

We were only dipping into Italy at Asti and Turin. Turin was a lovely place to see and surprised us.

Plenty to see in the city and some nice areas by the river Po.

The Turin Shroud was an extra element of interest.

France.

We moved across to southern France and visited a sequence of small Provençal villages.

Sadly, we didn’t get to see Vence….a town twinned with Stamford. The villages were a mini holiday within the trip. Great weather, a nice bit of cycling and quiet villages.

Avignon is a top visit. It’s so good UNESCO put it on their list!
Dole is well worth a visit and particularly easy in a motorhome when you can have a view like this for free.
Colmar and the Alsace are the prettiest places I have ever seen. They came straight from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!
This sets us up for Disneyland!
So cheers to another journey in life. Hope you find your destination!

Till next time…..I have a few ideas. You won’t be surprised.

One more sleep and we will be home. Thanks again.
