So, yesterday we were in the beautiful town of Dole. That’s what you call getting paid for not working!

I mentioned cities where they made nougat….Montellimar and the city that roars….Lyon.

Today we did some retail therapy including Decathlon, our favourite sports store.

Do I need more hiking trousers, running trainers and cycle lights? Probably not….but I can’t resist.

We continued our route but what region did we finish in….and….better question, what country?

Our destination is a pretty town but we were parked up today in a village outside the town. We will visit the ‘destination’ town tomorrow.

This might help with the region!

We settled the van at a vineyard where we could stay free. We arranged a wine tasting at 5pm. In the meantime we popped into the nearby village that is considered to be the most beautiful village in the country we are now in.

I could take equally gorgeous photos in any direction.

There are storks nests on top of buildings and plenty of gift shops.

I don’t think I have previously visited a ‘mushroom’ shop. Probably because I have been kept in the dark and fed on s***.

A pretty village is not complete unless it has the prettiest public WC….

All pristine inside too.

We returned to the vineyard for the wine tasting which we shared with a Finish couple from the next van to us.

Only eight wines to try. No pressure to buy but we did make a purchase.

We staggered back to the van to prepare for a big day tomorrow….Jan’s birthday!

However, here are a couple of clues to the destination town. It is connected to the Statue of Liberty in New York!….and it has its own Little Venice.

Good luck guessing. More pictures tomorrow of the actual destination town. You won’t be disappointed.

Any ideas yet of our final destination on Saturday? I don’t know what to wear on that day. If I don’t smarten up we could be considered to be ‘The Lady and the Tramp’!
