Do I need to remind anyone that Jon Pertwee was an early Dr Who and he played Worzel Gummage on TV with his friend Aunt Sally! I suppose that younger people might not get those clues to our destination near Pertuis. This is in the Luberon area where Peter Mayle wrote his famous book that made Provence famous.

Referring to Dr Who made me think of our motorhome as a tardis. We can’t do any time travel but we certainly use it as a travel machine between different cultures and lifestyles.

Today was a quiet day of leisure. When I say leisure I still include a short cycle ride to Lourmarin.

The village chateau.
We had a pleasant ‘cafe a longe’ and browsed the many fashion and craft shops. It seems to be a sophisticated village compared to its neighbours.

We cycled to the nearby village intent on having a long, lovely, lazy, lunch.

We found just the place…

I had the pork roti in a forestiere sauce and Jan had a cannelloni, washed down with a cheeky rose wine.

Here are the puds…

Jan had the pomme tarte and I took a guess at the flan d’isle? It was a rum, raisen and coconut custard with dribbled caramel sauce….also with a shot of brandy (tasted like Apple brandy).

I certainly had a warm squiffy feeling as we later toured the pretty old village centre.

This is the l’Etang in the main square. Very memorable.

Your job is to guess the name of the village….its a tough one but I will give more clues.

Great views over the rooftops.
St Michel’s Donjon.
Notre Dame de Beaulieu church.

We bought a couple of bottles of wine from the local co-operative….

Where all the wine production happens. Nice boozy smells too.

Here comes the last clue for the village….get ready as it is a tester….

Difficult…I know.

It might be a local comic who is doing this as we have seen other signs turned upside down.

On the road tomorrow. See you then.
