I know you all got yesterday’s location as Turin. The ‘Shroud of Turin’ is the famous shroud of Jesus Christ that is stored in the Cathedral and the Winter Olympics were a good give away.

We managed to see an awful lot yesterday and the weather was kind. Today we made a big change again.
This blog title might help a little with our new destination.
Our journey was a hair raiser. We travelled south and west and into the Alpes-Maritime range, driving over the Col de Tende and through a tunnel into Francia. In this instance the Gorge was gorgeous.

The driving was twisty but it got worse as we approached our destination. We had multiple hairpins on a smaller side road to reach our hillside town. It’s funny how Google maps assumes all vehicles can drive on all roads! We managed with a few squeezy bits.
It would be unfair of me to expect you to guess where we are as it is a small unremarkable town. It is Sospel….north of Menton, which is on the Med coast just over the France/Italy border.

We chose it for good reason….it’s away from the busy coastal towns and it has a nice campsite on the edge of town.
We got settled onto the site and walked into town.

The moment we arrived in France things look very French….it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise really!

We are a little more comfortable with the peculiarities of France and the language too. So, it felt nice to be so near to Nice!
We had a bier at a cafe in pleasant sunshine before returning to the van to plan our next move. We have the luxury of using a France AA road map from 2020. Quite up to date for us. At least we can see a larger scale map to decide where to go.
We still have 2-3 weeks of travels to go but all possibilities are still open.
