Back on the Destination trail today. Get your thinking caps on (or your Google finger).

We travelled just over an hour from Tübingen and waltzed straight onto a quiet Wohnmobilestellplatz….or motorhome parking place, on the edge of the Schloss park.

Firstly we came to the Fürstenberg brewery which made me very ‘firsty’.

We visited the Sammlungen building which hosted a museum which covered exhibits from geology, fossils, stuffed animals, classical art and modern art. Here’s a selection of items….

Spot the Goddess!
I particularly enjoyed the banana skin. I think it represented a hungry invisible gorilla !! Other items here are a rope, several pans upside down on a string, a spring and something that was described a a ‘liver’ but just looked odd. In the far distance that you can’t really see is a potato hanging from the ceiling with a knife sticking into it! Art my ****. What a load of tosh! It certainly provokes a response from me.

Time for more treats to get over my disbelief….it worked.

Some German cities have a cake named after them. If that was true this would be Oreoberg! I do like a cake with more cream than cake. I had to sacrifice an ice cream for this.

I must remind you that most towns of any size are called cities in Germany. This city isn’t very big but it has a grand church and Schloss.

….and most importantly it has the spring that is claimed as the source of one of Europes longest rivers.

This is where the spring comes to the surface. I visited here on my major bike ride in 2013.

I wonder who will be the Furst to get our destination today. To avoid confusion, we are not in Furstberg it’s just the name of the bier made here.

Think that the answer is Donaueschingen l, which is in the right ballpark area. Also a potential source of the Danube perhaps. Or somewhere else.
