I think most people got Tübingen. Despite it being such an old town the population is young! One third of the population are students….thats about 30,000. It’s UK twin town is Durham.
To make things easier for you (and me) we have stayed here for another night….so no guessing. We can’t keep moving every day we want to enjoy ourselves and we were due a good cycling day.
We were given advice about visiting Benehausen Monastery just north of the city. It was very quiet.

From here we cut across country through Schonnbrun Wald which involved a long hill climb. It was a bit of a shock as we are not so used to it since leaving the Lake District in spring this year. The paths were still paved and we enjoyed the ride through nature very much.
We stopped for our sandwiches in Rottenburg which despite its name was lovely….I had no doubts it would be. Everywhere in this part of Germany has a beautiful historic centre.

Our cycle route today was a bit like our whole journey. We had a broad idea where we might go but it changed during the route.

We regrouped back at the van and then had one last look around Tübingen.

Lastly, I couldn’t resist taking this photo. I couldn’t agree more!
Tomorrow we will move on again. We have a broad plan for the next few days. It might work….we shall see.
If Germans think Rottenburg is a a ‘Rotten Town’ then I’ll be happy to visit anywhere we find ourselves. Maybe Ratburg next?
