The clues for yesterday included the ‘Mass’ and ‘Strictly’ and having ‘Treats’. I also mentioned John Major negotiating. All this adds up to the southern Dutch city of Maastricht.
The significant building was a Government building where the Maastricht Treaty was signed in 1992. It was a major event as it set out the modern EU instead of the EEC. It established new power for the institutions and a step to federal Europe with one currency.
However, onwards we travel.

It won’t be too much of a giveaway if I told you that we were moving to the land of bratwurst and pils.
Our journey was generally southwards and we had a long detour for a closed autobahn near Koblenz. So we arrived at our destination after 4pm but we had plenty to do and see.
First of all it had a Transport museum.

We eventually found a wildcamping place on a car park because the camping site was full but it is close into the city centre. We cycled into the centre along the Rhine.

We had a great early evening in the city. Walking around and then finding the food and music festival.

The festival was in full swing in the side streets with several musical performances and lots of foody stalls.

It was a fantastic end to the day.

But where are we? The last clue is that the city is twinned with Spalding in England.
