As you might have guessed I have woken up again to start my blogging habit.

I have been quiet of late and Janice and I have travelled without blogging….I know that is unforgivable….and I humbly apologise.

To fill in the gap, here is a summary of our lifestyle travel since the Rugby World Cup in France 2023.

We visited Australia via Singapore in January 2024….

We cycled down the Mornington Penninsula near Melbourne….I told you I hadn’t aged, but I lied.

We had a great time visiting Melbourne and flying up to Sydney then hiring a car to drive up to Queensland. There were plenty of beaches and blue skies all the way.

We stopped over in Vietnam on the way back and took a guided cycle tour of the Mekong. What a brilliant experience we had.

The tour guide was great and the cycling was hot….at 38 degrees every day!

We have also had a motorhome holiday in the UK in East Anglia with plenty of cycling too. We love the UK too and get just as much from our travels at home.

However….

Janice has given the green light to me taking another major European solo touring holiday, similar to the one I did in 2013. I cycled the Eurovelo 6 route from the west coast of France eastwards through Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. I totalled 3000 miles over 81 days. That was the very first blog I ever wrote. It was rather basic but here’s the link if you are interested…

What an amazing photo of a French Chateau.

This trip will not be quite so epic but I intend to fly out to Bratislava in Slovakia and cycle back home via Prague, Dresden, Berlin, Munster and Rotterdam. I guess it could be 1500 miles..ish . I’m hoping to do it in 30-40 days. I will be following Eurovelo routes where possible but who knows where I will end up?
